Macerated Louisiana Strawberries


Ingredients
  • 1 pint fresh Louisiana strawberries (washed, hulled and quartered)
  • 2 teaspoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons orange blossom honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup Tawny Port (I use brandy when I am out of Port)

Instructions
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a glass ontainer and stir gently. 
  2. Seal container (air tight) and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
